Open Space Center for Youth
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (2007), 58.5% of children in Jerusalem live below the poverty line. Many youngsters return from their school day to an empty house and are left on their own while their parents are still at work.
Hibba's ‘Open Space’ Program is designed to provide homework support, a hot meal and recreational activities in a warm and supervised setting.
Youngsters will be able to come straight from school to meet friends, have a good time and use the library study rooms.
They will have monitored access to computers, homework assistance and a safe environment in which to develop socially.
Because of the close proximity of ‘Open Space’ to the Hibba Senior Citizen Day Center, we will be launching joint projects.
